This painterly vase has soft, feathered yellow and cream with hints of red, and with teal wrapped around the lip, in a classic cylinder vessel shape. A utilitarian form that stands as a work of art on its own.
Artist: Steve Claypatch
Steve found his second act in glassblowing after leaving a career as a master electrician in 2005. He had never before been to a gallery, art show, or museum. The epiphany of the level of satisfaction found in the act of creating changed his life. Since then, he has strived to be a professional glassblower- creating and selling work for many art shows and galleries. His wok primarily consists of blowing and often engraving beautiful utilitarian vessels, as well as glass memorials.
His desire is to create a beautiful art object you can use daily. They are made to serve a utilitarian purpose and to be a reminder of how important it is to give unconditionally and receive with grace.
